Orchid dance was a joy to make. I photographed the orchids while visiting Newfield's, who has a stunning array of orchids in their green house, and I just new I had to paint them. To create the background I overlapped acrylic paint combining a variety of textures using printmaking techniques. I then painted the orchids with oil paint. Last, I painted cut pieces of lace with wax and adhered them to the painted surface. The surface of the painting is a lovely landscape all its own due to the layering involved. I enjoy how the longer you stare at it the more hidden gems you discover. I hope you enjoy it too!
